12:30pm – 3:30pm Eastern Time/9:30 am - 12:30 pm Pacific
Edward M. "Ted" Kennedy, Jr., and Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA) are speaking on behalf of their respective parties at the National Forum on Disability Issues (NFDI) to present their campaign's positions on matters relating to Americans with disabilities ( see the full press release). The event takes place between 12:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m ET., Friday, Sept. 28, in Columbus, Ohio.
Over 80 disability and aging organizations came together to sponsor this non-partisan forum. It is the only national event that brings together representatives from President Barack Obama's and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney's campaigns and provides them with a platform to present their candidate's policy positions on disability issues.
Over 500 individuals are registered to attend the event in Ohio. In-person registration is full. However, you can still join thousands of individuals across the country that have signed up to watch the event web-streamed live. Over 2,000 individuals have signed up for the webcast and many are organizing viewing parties.
Co-sponsoring organizations and thousands of individuals across the country have helped to get the campaigns to participate. They wrote personal invitations, made pictures invitations, and urged them via You Tube videos! Tune in Friday September 28, to hear what the candidates have to say!
