Get to Know Your District

The blog is launching a new series of posts called Get to Know Your District. We will be running short articles on Tuesdays on the different positions in our district and people who fill them. Today we start with ourselves, the Community Advisory Committee (CAC) on Special Education.

What is the CAC?

The CAC (community advisory committee) is the school district advisory committee on special education. It is made up of parents, community members and district staff with an interest in special education. The CAC advises the Board of Education and the school district administration on special education programs and issues. The CAC also supports disability awareness and education. The CAC is a place where parents can get together to be informed about current issues in the district and state, in addition to gaining support from each other and getting to know special education staff within the district. Join us at our meetings on the first Monday of the month at 7pm in the District office board room. Everybody is welcome!
