Maria's post reminds me that summer often means running the AC more than I want to because in our family, HEAT = SEIZURES. If, like us, the extra expense is hard to manage, contact PG&E and ask about grant programs for people with low to middle incomes and/or disabilities to see if your family qualifies. You can find PG&E financial assistance online or call them at 

800-743-5000. I am pretty sure we will qualify for the Medical Baseline Allowance, one of the programs PG&E administers to support people with special needs. While you're on the PG&E website you can learn a lot about reducing your energy use, supporting greener power and reducing your carbon footprint.
