State Schools Chief Tom Torlakson Comments on California's Parent Empowerment Law

"Parent involvement is essential to student achievement. It is important that Californians know that the state's Parent Empowerment law, which has been on the books since April 2010, has remained fully in effect and available for parents to use."

State Schools Chief Tom Torlakson Issues Statement on Parent Empowerment Law

State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tom Torlakson issued the following statement after hearing testimony from parents about the Parent Empowerment Law during today's State Board of Education meeting. The statute has been incorrectly identified as the "parent trigger" law.
