Stir Crazy but Still Going!

I applaud ALL of you, it has been a long time and it isn't over yet.  Great job, you are doing it!  I know at times it isn't easy or maybe even at times every day there are moments but YOU ARE STILL DOING IT!  Thank you!

Today I just wanted to say that I am here for you and am proud of you.  The best we can do as parents is to end our day knowing we tried our best and we have a new day to do better.  During all this time of multiple new expectations that have been put on parents and the pull in many different directions I hope that you are finding time and ways to take care of YOU!

Here are few suggestions of ways to help make sure you are taken care of and ideas for your children that may be feeling overwhelmed and stressed too:
  • Take some alone time and do what YOU LIKE!
  • When you feel stressed, upset, overwhelmed or whatever it may be JUST DROP EVERYTHING and BREATHE!
  • Make sure to take breaks regularly after working diligently for a set amount of time, have your kids take breaks too.
  • Talk to a friend; call, text, video chat, any way you can!
  • Stretch, do yoga, get the blood flowing.  And if you are experiencing anything like me, that dining room chair is getting to be uncomfortable so stand up and work!
  • Maybe it's time for a change of scenery, find a different place to do your work. Hopefully you have a portable electronic to work on or bring work you can do anywhere.
  • Hug; share a hug with your child and/or all people living in the household.  Hugs can be magical!
Again, if you need any assistance or have any questions please feel free to email me at shenh@mdusd.org or check out our website.
