JUST BREATHE! FOCUS! SET SMALL EXPECTATIONS! HAPPY MONDAY!

As we return from Spring Break to our children once again at home with online school things can feel overwhelming, my suggestion, just focus on one thing at a time and DO WHAT YOU CAN!

I am sure some of you are glad that Spring Break is over while others are exhausted at the thought of managing your children’s online education while multi-tasking many other daily necessities in your life.  Some of you are balancing many children and their many interruptions and calls for help as the demands of their online education have ramped into overdrive.

Here are some tips I have for finding balance in the daily demands of TO DOs:

  • Relax and breathe
  • Take time to focus on what you are doing in the moment
  • Make a list of what needs to be done
  •  Manage your expectations, you can only do so much in one day
  •   Challenge your children to be a little more independent and see how they do, small steps at a time
  • Don’t aim to win an award for your status as a parent at home with children at home, it’s ok to just be managing things right now.
  • Let things go; whether that be managing the household, making sure your children do ALL their assignments when they are due, work tasks and all of the things that are needed IT’S OK TO NOT DO IT ALL!
  • Give yourself a PAT ON THE BACK, because you are doing a GREAT JOB!
