CONCORD -- The Mt. Diablo school board on Monday expects to appoint several new principals and other administrators, discuss an anti-bullying policy and explore a proposal to eliminate busing for "overflow" students.
To cut costs, trustees may require parents to transport their children to schools that are less than 5 miles from their neighborhood campuses, when their home schools are full. Now, the district transports elementary and middle school students to campuses that are outside students' neighborhoods, if there is no space available at the closest school.
The board will meet at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the district office, 1936 Carlotta Drive in Concord. More information is available by calling 925-682-8000, ext. 4000, or by visiting http://esbpublic.mdusd.k12.ca.us. Click on Aug. 20.
