Mother says school covering up injury to disabled child

BENTON, AR - A six-year old girl with developmental disabilities comes home from school with a broken leg. Now the Benton Police Department is investigating to find out what happened to the child. Her mother speaks out to FOX16 News because she says her little girl can't.

Janiya Carter is happiest playing with her toys but the 6-year old is not in school now, instead recovering at home from a broken leg.

Her mother Miranda McBride says she took cell phone video moments after Janiya got off her bus from Caldwell Elementary in Benton on April 19th.

"The way she was crying, that's a cry she doesn't normally cry," McBride says.
