This year's Transition Seminar will take a bold look at what teens on the spectrum and their parents can do NOW to prepare for life AFTER high school. Learn practical tips from the experts about how to best prepare your teen to navigate the real world and become happy, independent adults. Discover options and resources available to help promote a successful transition to college or work, and to develop a productive social life. During breaks, meet and talk with various programs and specialists about the services they offer to accommodate the needs of teens on the spectrum. Gain insights from Orion Academy alumni as they describe what has worked and what has been challenging in the real world after high school. End the day with the ever popular Parent Panel, a discussion with parents whose children are navigating the road beyond high school with varying degrees of success. Walk away with an excellent resource binder that summarizes everything presented during the seminar.
