UNDERSTANDING SPECIAL EDUCATION WORKSHOP

Participants of this workshop will become knowledgeable about the special education process and the rights of children with disabilities and special health care needs to access a free and appropriate public education. You will learn about special education rights protected under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and learn how to assert those rights on behalf of your child.

WHEN: Saturday, October 8, 9 a.m.-12 p.m. Doors open at 8:30 a.m.

WHERE: Care Parent Network, 1340 Arnold Drive, Suite 115, Martinez

WHO: Ann McDonald-Cacho, Education Advocate, Disability Rights Education and Defense Fund (DREDF)

MISC: There is no fee for this workshop and participants will receive a copy of training materials. Refreshments will be provided. Child care is not available.
