Get to Know-Autumn Green

Name: Autumn Green, Blog Chair

Number of children in District: I have two boys in the district; a typical developing 5th grader and a 3rd grader in a Special Day Class.

Why did you join the blog committee? I actually joined the blog to be better informed of community events that will benefit my children, and also to be able to hear first hand what is happening at our schools to better support my son.

What other areas do you help out in the special education community? I volunteer at both my children's schools, I am the founder and coordinator of a ministry that offers respite care to families with children that have special needs, and after a year of planning I just found out that All in Need, Family Support is now a 501c3! All in Need, Family Support provides support to families with children, ages 18 and under, that have special needs in the East Bay Area. By offering respite care in a nurturing and learning environment; promoting social interactions, gross and fine motor activities all in a sensory based atmosphere

What do you do for fun? When I am not sitting on a committee or volunteering. I am cleaning house, working out, and watching my oldest learning to break dance and Hip Hop, or my youngest play soccer or baseball. I do realize the question is what I do for fun, but honestly….those are my favorite things to do! As a family we like to hike, play board games, and when it is just alone time for my husband and me, you can catch us watching a movie at home.
