To promote natural interaction and learning between kids with special needs and their typical peers.
"Take-offs, Landings, and Treasures!"
Join us at the Buchanan Airfield in Concord for a fun time watching the aircraft! We'll be at the public viewing plaza right below the control tower. There are bleachers to watch the planes take off and land, as well a place to each lunch. Please pack a lunch for yourselves and be ready for a fun "secret" activity to follow! The area is large and fenced in for some of our "runners!"

You must turn off of Concord Avenue onto John Glenn Drive to reach the Viewing Plaza. Use this address for looking up directions: 145 John Glenn Dr, Concord, CA94520
Go all the way to the end of the road, passing Hertz Car Rental. At that point you will see the Buchanan Airport Control Tower.
Special Notes:
There are NO bathrooms at the Viewing Plaza, so please make sure you "go" beforehand. The nearest restrooms would be a short drive to Taco Bell or Trader Joe's.
There is shade over picnic tables, but otherwise a very sunny area. So...wear sunscreen!
For any of the older kids attending, bring a hand-held gps device if you have one. We will have them use that tool to find some of the "treasures."
If your child has any toy planes, bring them along for the pretend "runway."
Don't forget to pack a lunch!
Please RSVP to participate. Supplies and "props" are planned based on number of children attending.
