PLEASANT HILL -- Twenty teachers from Contra Costa County will vie for the title "Teacher of the Year" in September, the county Office of Education announced Wednesday.
The teachers were selected to represent 16 school districts in the county, along with the Contra Costa Community College District and the county Office of Education. Seventeen of these, who teach grades pre-K through 12, are eligible to compete in the Teacher of the Year competition.
The winner, to be selected in September, will represent Contra Costa County in the state Teacher of the Year competition.
