Get To Know Your CAC Executive Team- Vi Ibarra

Name, title as CAC Board, number of children in the District. My name is Vi Ibarra, CAC Secretary. I am a graduate of the Mt. Diablo district now my children attend school here. I have a third grader at Pleasant Hill Elementary, and a first grader in an SDC.

What do you feel you can bring to the CAC as a board member?
I try to keep informed about what is going on in the special needs community. I hope I can help other parents by encouraging communication between the school district and parents. I think lots of challenges can be made easier by respectful, two-way communication.

Why did you choose to be a CAC Board Member? This will be my third year as a member of the CAC. I became involved because I wanted to learn whatever I could about the school system and what is available for my children. Staying in contact with my children’s teachers, attending PTA, CAC and school board meetings are all a way to keep informed about what is going on. Serving on the CAC board is a way to continue my involvement.

What do you do for fun?
I like to have people to my house for barbeques or game nights, and when the weather is cooperating, I also like to get out and hike a little. I enjoy traveling, but of course it is always hard to find the time to do that.
