When Congress passed the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA), our country acknowledged that, "... the continuing existence of unfair and unnecessary discrimination and prejudice denies people with disabilities the opportunity to compete on an equal basis and to pursue those opportunities for which our free society is justifiably famous. DREDF is proud to have been a member of the community that worked to pass the ADA and we are honored to continue to be a part of the alliance advancing the human and civil rights of people with disabilities.
